HT Cholera Emergency Response Project (en)
The objective of the Cholera Emergency Response Project for Haiti is to improve the health and hygiene practices in order to reduce the spread of cholera and strengthen the institutional capacity to respond to outbreaks. The closing date of the project will be extended from June 30, 2013 to December 31, 2013. The extension will allow the Government to finalize the remaining rehabilitation work, which already started in May 2013, taking into account possible delays due to the upcoming rainy season. Specifically, it will allow the completion of: 1) rehabilitation of rooms for infectious and diarrheal diseases; 2) installation of incinerators for proper waste management; and 3) additional support for epidemiological surveillance. This will be the first and only extension for the project.
